White Pine Pictures
Experimental Marketing + Public Relations

The Relationship

Lights, camera, action! We were referred in 2023 to this Toronto-based filmmaking venture to help generate awareness of its documentary film Plastic People – the Hidden Crisis of Microplastics.

The Work

We developed and delivered an experiential marketing campaign during a United Nations gathering in Ottawa called the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee on Plastic Pollution Conference. Our twofold objective was to raise awareness around the film and around the health hazards of microplastics. Every physical element of our work had to be eco-friendly and contain minimal petroleum or plastic. In addition to promotional collateral, we developed walking billboards, video projections lighting up prominent Ottawa buildings, local influencer social media content, and live art projects. Our media relations strategy targeted both local outlets and health media specifically on a national level.

The Results

We helped to generate significant digital and traditional media coverage. We hosted sold-out private screenings that amplified awareness of the film and its messages amongst government delegates and the general public.
